E-commerce website design
Amore Chocolate is a producer of sweet treats based in Surrey. The company manufactures mouth-watering chocolates for sale in the UK.
Amore is the Italian word for love and the business wanted to share the joy of its chocolates with a wider customer base.
The company didn’t have a website, but wanted one to not only showcase their unique products, but also to take orders so they could sell to a broader range of customers.
Project Overview:
To design and build a responsive e-commerce website that would showcase Amore Chocolate’s product range and provide a sales platform.
Services Provided:
- WordPress web design and development
- Website hosting
- Branding
- Logo design

Bespoke WordPress e-commerce website design
The finished WordPress website design incorporated several factors to achieve the results that Amore Chocolate required.
Firstly, we got across their beautiful bespoke chocolate in the header by showcasing one of their unique bars. Two call to action buttons for their shop strategically placed above the fold of the screen complimented this. The primary button in the brand’s green colour below the introduction text. The second button was a subtler highlight of the brand’s brown colour in the main menu navigation.
The second factor was the use of curved chocolate shapes throughout the page. We started this in the header section and continued to separate each section with these curves.
Amore Chocolate wanted their e-commerce website design to showcase their offerings. So, we gave each service a distinct section. In this way, Amore could show not only their range of chocolates, but also the experiences they offer. Clear service boxes for their Chocolate tasting, making, parties and corporate experiences were incorporated in to the front page.
To keep the focus throughout the page on driving traffic to the shop, we incorporated a “popular right now” section. This area of the homepage dynamically showcases the current top four selling chocolates with the opportunity to put them in the user’s cart directly from the homepage.
Building the whole e-commerce website project with a custom and responsive WordPress web design allowed us to achieve the effect that Amore Chocolate wanted.

User Experience centered design
The user interface (UI) is key when building an online store. Customers want to be able to navigate and find their favourite products with ease without confusion or being overwhelmed.
The whole website was designed with the user in mind. The homepage set this up with simple easy to navigate sections for products and experiences. This flowed throughout the whole website as we separated the chocolates in to distinct categories for individual and boxed. This made it easy for the user to navigate to what type of chocolates they desired.
The user interface was complimented by a good user experience (UX). A clean and easy purchasing experience was paramount otherwise potential customers may abandon their shopping cart.

Sales, payments and stock monitoring
Making the sale is just half of the goal of an e-commerce website. Confirmation of the payment, order processing and stock monitoring all need to happen behind the scenes.
We built the site on Woo Commerce in order to achieve these objectives. As orders come in, payments are automatically confirmed and stock levels are instantly adjusted. What’s more, with the website built on the WordPress content management system, new products can be added easily by the Amore Chocolate staff.
New logo design
To compliment their new website design, Amore Chocolate asked us to take on the challenge of making the company a new logo.
We were happy to oblige and the final design chosen by Amore Chocolate complimented their brand well.

WordPress CMS
Building a responsive e-commerce website on the WordPress content management system (CMS) gave Amore Chocolate a whole host of benefits.
Staff could add new pages to the website or create offers and generate coupon codes to drum up business in the store. Discount deal days or free shipping offers helped boost business.
The company could also add new products when they released their latest flavour of chocolate. WordPress made uploading new product ranges a breeze, complete with the ability to set prices, stock levels and offer promotion periods.
A great project to work on and a brilliant example of how to use WordPress for a unique and bespoke e-commerce website design.
